Episode 7 of the Stelvio Chronicles takes a look at RC racing from the grass roots to the bi-annual World Championships we explore the electrifying, cutting edge hobby with a world wide presence accessible to everyone.
Presented by Sean Smith, joined by Alistair Walker
There's a reason why Formula E has the term "Single Seater" when they say "The World's first, fully electric, single seater, racing series", that's because electric racing has existed, literally, at a smaller scale for many, many years.
RC racing ranges from the part time hobby to the full on world championships where global manufacturers spend huge amounts of money testing and developing their fully race prepared cars as they fight tooth and nail to win bragging rights of being the best in the world.
Joining me today is the West Country's Alistair Walker who has experienced the full spectrum of the sport from car park to the international racing scene. We discuss the similarities between the RC world and their full sized counterparts, the technology involved, our experiences at the University of Hertfordshire and beyond, the development races, the team spirit, the community and much more.
